It’s never too late to be a better person

With the middle of Ramadan approaching us, don’t feel like there’s an expiration date in changing your lifestyle to the better. But for now, take advantage of this wonderful time. Self-reflection is something we all enjoy doing during this holy month. Actions don’t have to be earth-shattering and require a huge amount of your time. Remember - everything counts, even the little things!

 

  1. Good Intentions/النوايا الحسنة

 

Every action we perform is measured and rewarded based off of our intentions. It is commonly said that ‘the intention is the foundation of every action’. Think about an action you did today. Was it sincere?

 

  1. Kindness/لطف

 

The Quran heavily promoting the kindness of others. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) taught us that compassion and kindness are essential in human behaviour. Whether dealing with family, friends, or even strangers, attempt to be kind - with no motive. A selfless act can go a long way!

 

  1. Gratitude/امتنان

 

Something we hear a lot, yet not enough is Al Hamdulilah - الحمد لله. Be thankful for what you have, even if it may not seem like much, it’s plenty. Appreciating your loved ones, your possessions and your surroundings is crucial to lead a happy, healthy, spiritual and successful life. Every morning, we are given a chance to complete what we weren’t able to the day before - a major blessing! Always remind yourself to say الحمد لله.

 

 

There are so many deeds out there that you can take advantage of to become a better individual. Start with the above 3 and add 1 or 2 good deeds to your list every month. My goal by the end of the year is to embed 10 new deeds into my daily life to the point that it becomes part of my routine!
